One of the main points I am taking out of participating in the Crossfit Games Open is that my body has been able to do things I have never thought it could do, and it is making me want to push for things even more than ever. I all of a sudden have this severe […]

In a perfect world, we would get all of our essential vitamins and minerals, along with a proper balance of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. But sadly, we do not live in a perfect world, and even though real food is the desired source of all of the above, in order to push yourself a bit […]

Crossfit Games Open Workout 13.3 – Parts 1 and 2

by ~jenniferlynn on March 24, 2013

in CrossFit

Waiting for the Crossfit Games Open workout announcements is half of the fun of this whole Open process. While I am not at all competitive, nor anywhere near the top of any list, there is still some anxiety that comes along with the announcements of the workouts and even more-so when it comes down to performing […]

If you didn’t notice from the opportunities I have had to work with SoRockShop and LatitudeGearRX, I am a sucker for fun workout tanks, or WOD gear as I like to call them. I think part of this is attributed to the importance of visual cues that I discussed before; there is just a different sort of feeling you […]

I don’t know about you but it seems like the more callouses, skins, and bruises I get, the cooler I feel in my Crossfit world. I talked a couple weeks ago how having a skin tear is like one of the rites of passage in Crossfit, and while I have some minor ones, none have ever bled […]

Crossfit Games Open – Workout 13.1

by ~jenniferlynn on March 10, 2013

in CrossFit

I know a lot of my followers are runners, but don’t get too excited about the title of this post. The first workout in the Crossfit Games Open 2013 was cleverly titled 13.1 (I think because of the year 2013, first workout of the games), and did not translate into a half marathon by any means. 😉

I recently entered a giveaway on one my favorite blogs, The Ascent Blog, for a Crossfit WOD tank by LatitudeGearRX. Around the same time that I found the giveaway, I was contacted by Lindsay, who founded the company, asking if I would be interested in reviewing on of their tanks. Of course, I said yes!

..For real this time: I’m back from my hiatus!

by ~jenniferlynn on March 2, 2013

in CrossFit

So remember on Monday when I posted about finally being back from my short hiatus from Crossfit due to my injury? On Tuesday, I could not get out of bed. It was the most horrible, miserable feeling to have felt so optimistic and positive, and then to be right back to where I started. I cried. I whined. […]

Lady Lifter Spotlight: Lisa S.!

by ~jenniferlynn on February 28, 2013

in Lady Lifter Spotlight

While I have only been doing Crossfit for a few months, I have forever been inspired by those ladies that have done it for quite some time. One of the first bloggers I ever followed was Fabulous in Fayetteville, as this chick wears Lulu, does Crossfit, eats only recipes from PaleOMG and Well Fed, does […]

AbMat Review and Giveaway! {with a vlog!}

by ~jenniferlynn on February 27, 2013

in Giveaways!, Product Reviews, Vlog

I had my first AbMat experience at a global gym about a year ago. I had signed up to work with a personal trainer and he had me doing a Crossfit-style workout that consisted of push-ups, squats, and sit-ups. When the trainer set the mat on the floor, I had no idea how to use […]
