Scaling is relative.

in CrossFit

Today I did one of the historically hardest workouts that I had ever done in my Crossfit history for the second time; but this time I did the WOD at 20# less. Yesterday, I completed Murph for my third time, both times prior I did it RX, though this week I scaled. The old me was […]

by ~jenniferlynn on May 7, 2015

in CrossFit

This weekend I was awarded, at my third Crossfit Prom, with the honor of “Resident Crossfit Kool-Aid Kid”, after last year winning the “Transformation Award”, and the year before being recognized for a major PR moment over the year. It was really such an honor because the past year I feel that I have grown […]

Or when you first saw a female athlete and thought, “I want to be just like her”? When I started Crossfit, one of my first friends was a little petite thing with the drive and passion that was unmatched to anything I had ever witnessed in […]

Another week, another Crossfit Games Open workout down! When 15.4 was announced, the first thing that came out of my mouth (despite not being very strong at HSPU and despite my max power clean being less than the prescribed weight): I love 15.4!!

Spoiler alert. The title sums up my quest to log an RX score all of the 2015 Crossfit Games Open workouts. If you missed my first two events you can check them out, though nothing too revolutionary in there: Crossfit Games Open 15.1 Crossfit Games Open 15.2 I’m not sure what it is about this Open […]

The last two Crossfit Games Opens that I have participated in have had muscle-ups, and as a non-official marker of elite athleticism in Crossfit, it was inevitable that would be in the Open this year. And in typical Castro fashion, the curve-ball was going to be thrown at us – placing them smack in the beginning […]

Last year when Crossfit Games Open 14.2 was announced, the Crossfit community was in a bit of an uproar as a pretty advanced movement, at the time, was programmed that a lot of athletes couldn’t do. I, being one of said athletes, saw it as an opportunity, and not only got my first chest-to-bar pull-up but ended up finishing […]

Another year, another Crossfit Games Open! This will be my third time participating in an Open (after doing Crossfit just a little more than two years, completing my first one pretty fresh out of On Ramp!), and honestly – I will admit that I am less than excited this year than I have been in […]
