Fitness Cheerleader’s August Healthy Living/Fitness Blogger Writing Challenge: Day 17: Share your favourite workout routine This is a bit tough for me to say since I recently finished one program and onto another, and haven’t ever really had to create my own routine in between. I’ve found in the last 6 months that sticking to […]
I am going to straight up admit that I am not the best role model for the New Rules of Lifting for Women program, but I can talk to you all day along about how great it is and how beneficial I think the program is to any woman who wants to get fit, increase strength, and gain […]
Although we have a great setup in our garage, fully equipped with an Olympic weight set, pull-up bar, rower, and adjustable dumbbell weights, the Michigan record temps have been just way too much for me to handle. So after my horrible mini-meltdown after an amazing vacation full of sleeping and eating, and more eating and eating.. I think my boyfriend had some pity on me and decided to give me an advance on my pull-up challenge and buy me a present anyway without me having to torture myself some more 🙂 I […]

As part of working on my NROLFW program, I have learned a lot about how the fitness industry somewhat has a distinction between what exercises men and women should be doing, and how most of that is just pure nonsense. The book encourages stepping away from the pink “Barbie” weights and becoming familiar with the […]
The intention was to do a venting write-up on front squats last night, but due to unforeseen circumstances, this post was delayed.. Has there ever been a particular workout move that you torture yourself with and get such mental anguish over that it throws off your whole focus and frustrates the heck out of you? Up until […]
At one point in the NROLFW book, there is a section regarding what weight you should start at when doing a particular exercise: “Whatever you think you can use, the actual number is probably higher.” I totally believe this and oftentimes it’s hard to push yourself to your own limits.
