Reebok Nano 4.0 and an At-Home Crossfit WOD

by ~jenniferlynn on August 14, 2014

in Sponsored Posts

The following post is sponsored by FitFluential LLC on behalf of Reebok. Since my minor little melt-down the other day at Crossfit, my coach had suggested that I take a bit of time away from the barbell (what?!), step back from Olympic lifting for a moment (noooo….), and focus on having fun. Well, I use […]

Dream Bigger and Become Better

by ~jenniferlynn on April 21, 2014

in CrossFit

While there are probably hundreds of lessons that I could pull from my Crossfit experiences thus far, I think one main lesson that Crossfit can teach us is that, “Patience is a virtue,” one of the many wise quotes that my dad used to always say, but one that I often to have to remind myself. […]

Crossfit Games Open 14.5: I can do hard things

by ~jenniferlynn on April 8, 2014

in CrossFit

I can guarantee that if you surveyed any Crossfitter and ask what his or her most-disliked Crossfit movements are, I can guarantee 99% of them will say burpees or thrusters, and probably nearly just as many will quote them both. While the first four Crossfit Games Open workouts passed, and not one of them contained […]

Crossfit Competition: 3rd Annual 9/11 Challenge

by ~jenniferlynn on September 10, 2013

in CrossFit

By the third time competing you would think I’d be an expert at the whole competition experience, right? Nope, still same amount of preparation needed (mentally and physically), same amount of nerves, same amount of excitement! On 9/7/13, our box hosted a team competition, priding itself in the largest competition in the region with around […]

Motor City Crossfit Competition: Never satisfied..

by ~jenniferlynn on August 25, 2013

in CrossFit

From my recent post about reasons why you should compete in a Crossfit Competition, one of my top selling points is that you find out that you are capable of doing things that you never thought you were able to do before. For me, the adrenaline and the competition atmosphere is so overwhelming in the […]

Emotional Roller Coaster Part 1: “The Seven”

by ~jenniferlynn on July 10, 2013

in CrossFit

I can equate Crossfit to so many things that have nothing to with it just being a workout. It is so much more than that. Some may call it a cult, a sport, a lifestyle. But for me, this week’s definition: an emotional roller coaster.

2 miles and 600 reps later..

Along with many other boxes across the country, my box chose to do the Memorial Day “Murph” WOD on Monday, in “memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005. This workout was one of Mike’s favorites and he’d named it “Body Armor”. From here on […]

In a quest to perfect my deadlift form, I have experienced a fair share of bumps and bruises along the way. It has been somewhat nice that the Michigan weather has been a bit chilly and I can hide my pasty, banged up legs underneath pants, but shorts season is inevitable and I am no […]

One of the main points I am taking out of participating in the Crossfit Games Open is that my body has been able to do things I have never thought it could do, and it is making me want to push for things even more than ever. I all of a sudden have this severe […]

Crossfit Games Open – Workout 13.1

by ~jenniferlynn on March 10, 2013

in CrossFit

I know a lot of my followers are runners, but don’t get too excited about the title of this post. The first workout in the Crossfit Games Open 2013 was cleverly titled 13.1 (I think because of the year 2013, first workout of the games), and did not translate into a half marathon by any means. 😉
