Where do you find your Bliss?

Though you all know and love me as a health and fitness blogger and avid Crossfitter, believe it or not I do have a normal “9-5” type job, where I spend my days in a cubicle. While the world of accounting can be quite dull at times, the last few days of the month and first few days of the month can get extremely stressful with tight deadlines to meet and demands coming from all different directions.

As a result of not always doing well under pressure, a coworker gave me a “Dammit Doll” to help relieve some of the daily stresses..

With the not-so-subtle slamming of my doll on the desk, often it’s better to just take a minute, step away from the desk, and relax.. I work in the up and coming Downtown Detroit, in the 30th floor of an iconic office building. The view from our lunch room is perfect to just escape..

But even with a nice view and a moment of peace, my true bliss is not found until I leave the office and enter the Crossfit box.

My Crossfit box is my happy place, a place where I can ignore all of stresses of the day and have not a care in the world except for what is written on the whiteboard. A place where month-end doesn’t matter, nor does the amount of dishes piling up in the sink, nor the bills that are coming due.

Crossfit to me is pure bliss.

Sadly, I cannot Crossfit while stuck in the cubicle life.. and almost as sad, the general population is even more stressed than you probably think!

So for those moments when I get overwhelmed at work and need to relax, I was intrigued by the opportunity to try out neuro BLISS, a  tropical citrus lychee flavored drink designed to reduce stress and relax the mind. Made with chamomile, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and aminos found in green tea, neuro BLISS provides a calming effect and promotes a positive outlook by reducing stress levels, improving memory and attention.

A slightly carbonated tea-like beverage made with no artificial colors or flavors, it was a relaxing treat to help me through my afternoon.

Interesting drink, I’ll have to try it out! Yes, my happy place is when I’m running, swimming, biking or just with my dog in general 🙂

My bliss is when I am outside doing outside things: hiking, running, gardening, yoga, reading a book with a nice light drink (fruit infused water typically). I can never stay in side all day. At the office, I have learned not to let cranky or pushy people get to me. I laugh it off. When that doesn’t work, I go for a quick walk or stretch it out in the stairway… My boss encourages us going out back to scream if we really need to. I never have taken it THAT far though 🙂

Haha.. screaming may help.. lol. That’s great to be able to have a place to relax and get away!

Hmm … happy place. Running? Also, going out with friends.

One of my friends was telling me that stuff wasn’t very good. I’ll give it another shot!

I am a huge plain-water drinker, so anything flavored is a push for me.. haha. It’s very grape-fruit tasting..

My bliss? Running, weightlifting, at the gym, a glass of wine, hanging out outdoors on a beautiful day, the beach…….. Sounds like an interesting drink!

Oh man I feel you with the accounting world. My undergrad degree is accounting and I hated it so much I switched to HR. It definitely takes some patience! But I will say I need a damnit doll on some days for this job as well haha
I find bliss in fueling my body with healthy foods, a nice sweaty workout, cuddling with my husband and relaxing with a big ol’ glass of red wine. You can betcha I do all of these things almost daily 😉

My degree is HR management! Just landed here somehow.. haha.

Sounds like a perfect evening!
