When Crossfit Games Open 14.1 was released, I remember hearing so many negative comments from people who were either unable to, or not very comfortable, doing double-unders and how it wasn’t fair that they programmed these in the workout. Ironically, some of those same people ended up not only getting their first DU last week, […]

Ah.. the Crossfit Games Open is upon us. For those new to the sport is a prime time to see what the competition atmosphere is all about, to challenge yourself to do new movements and hit weights that you never have before. A big community event full of love and support and a way to […]

If you didn’t hear me mention it in just about every Crossfit Games Open recap post thus far (13.1, 13.2, 13.3, 13.4), participating in a worldwide competition against the fittest athletes in the world has been absolutely one of my favorite experiences thus far in Crossfit. This Wednesday, as I have done for the past four Wednesdays […]

One of the main points I am taking out of participating in the Crossfit Games Open is that my body has been able to do things I have never thought it could do, and it is making me want to push for things even more than ever. I all of a sudden have this severe […]

Crossfit Games Open Workout 13.3 – Parts 1 and 2

by ~jenniferlynn on March 24, 2013

in CrossFit

Waiting for the Crossfit Games Open workout announcements is half of the fun of this whole Open process. While I am not at all competitive, nor anywhere near the top of any list, there is still some anxiety that comes along with the announcements of the workouts and even more-so when it comes down to performing […]

I don’t know about you but it seems like the more callouses, skins, and bruises I get, the cooler I feel in my Crossfit world. I talked a couple weeks ago how having a skin tear is like one of the rites of passage in Crossfit, and while I have some minor ones, none have ever bled […]

by ~jenniferlynn on March 10, 2013

in CrossFit

I know a lot of my followers are runners, but don’t get too excited about the title of this post. The first workout in the Crossfit Games Open 2013 was cleverly titled 13.1 (I think because of the year 2013, first workout of the games), and did not translate into a half marathon by any means. 😉

by ~jenniferlynn on May 7, 2015

in CrossFit

This weekend I was awarded, at my third Crossfit Prom, with the honor of “Resident Crossfit Kool-Aid Kid”, after last year winning the “Transformation Award”, and the year before being recognized for a major PR moment over the year. It was really such an honor because the past year I feel that I have grown […]

Do you remember the first time you watched competitive Crossfit? Or when you first saw a female athlete and thought, “I want to be just like her”? When I started Crossfit, one of my first friends was a little petite thing with the drive and passion that was unmatched to anything I had ever witnessed in […]

I guess I’ll sign up for the Open

I can give any person who is hesitant about signing up for the Crossfit Games Open a million and one reasons why you should. I can recount my own personal experiences or share why competitions are so  important. I will tell you that it doesn’t matter what skill level you are, or how long you […]
