Short, but sweet.

I hit a different kind of PR yesterday that had nothing to do with a barbell, a WOD, or a benchmark.

I took a rest day from Crossfit, but it was the most gorgeous day out so was feeling like I needed to do something. I laced up my shoes and decided to go for an easy one-mile run. (What?! I wanted to go for a run? What is happening to me?!)Β Since I’ve been having the #twomilesuck, I figure if I keep pushing in shorter distances, maybe it will help me break the mental barrier.

So off I went.. following a route that I knew was just about one mile.

I wasn’t sprinting, but knew I was going faster than my comfortable pace; I figured it is only a mile so may as well put some effort! And I clocked my fastest mile ever. Ever. EVER.

One day, I dreamed of a 10:00/mile.

Yesterday, my legs had a mind of their own and made my dreams come true.

Where the heck did that come from?!

Congrats! I dream of a 10:00 mile one day too! What app/device do you use to track your running? That’s a neat chart of your run pace it produces!

I like Runkeeper; to get the nifty history chart I had to pay $20 for the year for their Elite membership, but seems like a neat way to track things. The free membership is great, too!
