Emotional Roller Coaster Part 1: “The Seven”

by ~jenniferlynn on July 10, 2013

in CrossFit

I can equate Crossfit to so many things that have nothing to with it just being a workout. It is so much more than that. Some may call it a cult, a sport, a lifestyle. But for me, this week’s definition: an emotional roller coaster.

by ~jenniferlynn on April 8, 2013

in CrossFit, Running

It’s finally April! And sadly, winter has not officially left us here in Michigan. A couple of days lately we made it to the 50s, but it always seems to go back to frosty mornings. This week’s supposed to be a bit nicer, but of course with warmer temperatures has to come rain. Can’t have […]

by ~jenniferlynn on January 30, 2013

in CrossFit

I have decided to commit to Crossfit a minimum 4x a week (Two Crossfit WOD classes, two Crossfit Endurance classes, with a likely 5th day reserved for strict Olympic lifting sessions). The tentative schedule, which has been working for the past couple weeks is: I was quite pleased to find out that my box offers not only typical […]

My feelings on “Fran”..

by ~jenniferlynn on January 15, 2013

in CrossFit

It is almost for four-week-i-versary at Crossfit! Not counting my Groupon classes, it will be four weeks tomorrow that I have endured this madness! I cannot believe how fast it has gone, and how much more I still have to grow! So many more benchmark WODs to attempt and so many more “first-time” movements to […]

I can’t say no.

by ~jenniferlynn on December 19, 2012

in CrossFit

If you personally know me, you will know that I have hard time saying no. I always get suckered into doing things I really don’t want to do or end up “volunteering” for projects or throwing money to one cause or another. It’s not that it’s a bad thing. It sometimes could be a blessing in disguise. I […]

Thursday marked my last day of my Groupon deal for classes at Hines Park Crossfit. I successfully completed six classes and was able to test out of the intro group and can now officially join the real classes! Well, provided that I pay my dues and sign some sort of contract.. For Thursday’s class, I […]

by ~jenniferlynn on December 5, 2012

in CrossFit

So I’ve now officially completed two more days of Crossfit and I’m quite sure my next class (tomorrow) is going to be my “test out”, where I graduate from being an on-ramp student to a real member (if I sign up!). I am so conflicted on what to do next!!! Maybe I’ll post a pros […]

by ~jenniferlynn on November 27, 2012

in CrossFit

On the first day of Crossfit, my new coach gave to me.. 500 meters of rowing, 40 air squats, 30 butterfly sit-ups, 20 incline push-ups 10 banded pull-ups and some DOMs that will last for three days.. Let me tell you that my first real experience at a Crossfit box was a quite humbling one. […]
