So it’s Day 3 of the Whole30, and according to the Whole30 Timeline, days 2-3 are the “Hangover” days as your body is accepting not having the bad foods in your diet, so it struggles to retake control. Having the first few days on a long weekend had its benefits, while we tried to work […]
Watch out, ladies. No longer should you not just lift more than 1.5kg, but don’t do any weight lifting cause you might end up look like these ladies!
Edit: When I originally wrote this post, I was all about eating cheese all the time- not paleo. Adding the cheese will not make this paleo, but does make it more delicious! I love veggies. Okay, not really. Actually, almost not at all. Ā I grew up as a meat and potatoes girl, and my parents […]

So after my horrible mini-meltdown after an amazing vacation full of sleeping and eating, and more eating and eating.. I think my boyfriend had some pity on me and decided to give me an advance on my pull-up challenge and buy me a present anyway without me having to torture myself some more š I […]
I just finished Stage 6 of my NROLFW program on Monday (yay!). It was by far my favorite stage. While stage 6 was optional, it was recommended for anyone who wanted to be able to achieve a chin-up. And heck yes, it worked! š It included negative chin-ups, pull-downs, push-ups, and split squats. I made […]
The intention was to do a venting write-up on front squats last night, but due toĀ unforeseenĀ circumstances, this post was delayed.. Since I’ve recently traded in my usual cereal or oatmeal for breakfast for more protein-packed eggs instead, I have been determined to find a good method of making hard-boiled eggs that don’t suck and that peel perfectly. Thanks to Pinterest, I have! This recipe was adaptedĀ fromĀ Mom on a MissionĀ and since I discovered this way of […]
At one point in the NROLFW book, there is a section regarding what weight you should start at when doing a particular exercise: “Whatever you think you can use, the actual number is probably higher.” I totally believe this and oftentimes it’s hard to push yourself to your own limits.
It has been 14 weeks since I started my New Rules of Lifting for Women programĀ (wow, does not seem like that long!) and so far, I am very pleased with the results. Ā I’ve gained some weight (intentionally), but most of that is muscle. I’ve seen strength gains in ways I never thought possible (like being […]
I’ve been working on my NROLFW program and have been very much into it and loving all of the new workouts and increased strength gains. In the meantime, my boyfriend has been working on a 5×5 program and was looking to add some more variety to his workouts. He started to create a home gym […]
