I have had an issue in the past with being a bit of a shopaholic, which is brought on by the ability to snag a good deal on just about anything I buy. I rarely pay full price for anything, and even though I have made conscious efforts to stop buying things I do not need (darn you, Amazon one-click!), it is really nice when I can make a purchase I would normally make anyway and save money doing it.
One way that I have continued to do this is with my favorite credit card, my beloved American Express (Amex). I originally applied for the card when I got my Costco membership and I continue to find new perks! On top of my Costco cash-back rewards that I already receive for using my card just about weekly to load up on key staples in my household (broccoli, avocados, clementines, eggs, to name a few), I recently discovered that American Express has a rewards program.
Amex Offers uses my shopping history and location to tailor bonus savings that are relevant to me. It only takes a simple click to save an offer to my card. I don’t have to do anything else other than spend away! While the offers may not all be huge savings at once, every bit helps! One offer I recently scored was saving $5 on gas, which ends up being almost a 40 cent/gallon savings on a recent fill-up!
Some other offers are much larger, such as $30 off $150 at Zappos, but I have found the smaller ones are ones I use most often. One way to add offers to your card is directly from the website when you are logged into your account trhough www.amexoffers.com. Amex also made it super easy to add deals to your card by using social media sites including: Facebook, Foursquare, Twitter, and TripAdvisor.
Once enrolled in the Twitter program, for example, you can simply tweet and the offer is added to your card without having to login to the site. What I love most about this program is that after I save the deals to my card I do not have to consciously think about anything. I am saving money at stores and on products I would buy anyway.
Right now, there are over $15 million in savings available for Amex Card Members with everything from makeup, pet products, travel, home improvement, and more. Surely there is an offer that is relevant to you!

I do use credit cards with rewards programs. In fact, that’s a deciding factor when choosing a credit card. My current card gives us a percentage back on all purchases and a higher percentage on specific quarterly purchase categories. We love it!

I do like there to be something positive that comes with a credit card. Right now the card I use earns me points, and I can buy things with those points.

Yes I do use a credit card with rewards, I love a good deal and I will buy something once in a while if I don’t need it. I like Amex Offers because the offers are based on purchases you have made in the past, so they will be really useful.

i honestly don’t use my credit card for anything except reserving hotel rooms and plane reservations. I use my debit card for online purchases.

My one and only credit card is an MLB rewards card. I did get tickets to a game from it, but right now I’m focused on paying down debt so I try not to use it even with rewards.
